I think he may have had a heart transplant mid February I remember seeing a post from him or his family then on X I listened to Quinn for a very long time, started when I began working a real job and would tune him in back in the days of Quinn and Banana Don Then when he came back, I think it was 96.9 and he was only slightly political, but that started to change bit by bit, until all he did was a oretty solid conservative radio show. He brought on many good guests to dig into the dirt of the clintons. Then he hired on Rose Somma Temple, and she had lots of connections, and the show and guests got better. It was a lousy day when the clear channel people kicked him off and they got replaced by that douchebag from wheeling, bloomquist. Listened to that guy one day, and had enough of his shit. Finally he got a show that was run out of WYSL in rochester NY, but could be streamed online, and listened to him on and off until maybe a year ago, and lost track after my CC number changed and my subscription ran out. But I guess he was not doing many shows for some time, as his health declined. So I spent many days listening to Quinn on the way to work. We all have a limited time here, but its sad to see such voices end. Like Rush, he had his own style and I liked it. No immediate relation, but maybe distant. Met him at gun shows and the gatherings he used to have way back. He had quite a following around Pittsburgh |
| I was a monthly subscriber to Quinn's show since he went online after 104.7 fired him and Rose (then went country, lol). I've listened to him since he was with B94 as a disc jockey in the 80's (although WDVE was the cool kids station). Jim had really hit his stride in the last few years with big name guests stopping in for interviews. I'll say this, he was right a lot more often than he was wrong and will be a sadly missed part of my morning routine. Losing these older talk show hosts (as with any older family member) is losing a link to an America many of us are too young to remember. They helped add context to issues that had their inception before we were born and we can't properly understand because the powers that be don't want us to. Godspeed to him. |
