Periodically we get a question about RI Gun Laws, so here is a quick summary: The Good- Detachable mags restricted to 10 rds max cap. NO grandfathering. There are no "Assault Weapons" bans or restrictions You can buy any handgun that you can afford You can buy as much ammo as you can afford, but you must present RI "Blue Card" to do so. The Bad- Seven day wait for everything Carry permits can be difficult to get, carrying without is a felony No Class 3. No MG's, SBR's, AOW's, suppressors, etc. To buy a handgun you need a "blue card" showing that you have passed a basic handgun safety/knowledge quiz. Good news, it's valid for life. The Ugly- Current RI Atty General, Peter Neronha is a die-hard Anti, but he is term-limited.
