If you're in the north AL area and you ever have to go through this shit, Clearview Cancer Institute Is fucking awesome! The problem now is I had high BP before this started. Now that the chemo/radiation is winding down, the BP issues are returning. I need a PCP, the oncologists don't really care about BP, it isn't in their area of expertise. |

I appreciate the recommendations, both here and via PM. But I am looking for a primary care doc in the Madison/East Limestone area. Someone that can give me BP meds and say, see you in 3 to 6 months, hope your other shit gets better. Since January, I have spent a lot of time driving or getting driven to appointments at CCI (Clearview Cancer Institute), Huntsville Hospital, Crestwood, some surgery center etc, I would like to minimize that drive time for basic health stuff. Two of the three docs I have are now at CCI and with some creative scheduling it is better these days. I can tell you that 6 weeks of going to CCI from Harvest for daily radiation with 2 weeks of chemo sprinkled in sucked. Hell, I bought a new Camry in early march because my 16yr old Altima (I know spare me the memes) was on its last leg, and getting to those appointments mattered more than the cost to me. I know I'm rambling here but, this week I'll see the colon surgeon for a basic appointment. No doubt he will schedule another colonoscopy. Next week I have an MRI and CT Scan scheduled, both with and without contrast. The next day I have an appt with the oncologist to read the scans. All of these are 30 min plus in travel time. I just want a local PCP to take care of the basic shit that is near me. Sorry if this comes off as a rant, I have an amazing boss and am thankful for all he and my team has done for me. I just need to get back to "normal". |

Just throwing this out there. Is telehealth an option? Unsure if it is with all you have going on, or if they prescribe BP meds without a baseline. |

+1 to telehealth I have medical insurance through work. The telehealth with that plan offers urgent care and primary care consultation. I just did urgent care for a sinus infection consultation.  The telehealth primary care was recommended by the insurance company should I need my b.p. med refilled before I can settle on a primary care physician in the north of HSV area.The telehealth option this morning beat the pants off of sitting in an urgent care waiting room taking the sadistic penmanship tests that medical office staff seems to revel in |
