The Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) Legal Action Team is urgently looking for qualified FPC members and supporters in Mississippi who wish to sue the government and help us defeat an unconstitutional law! For this lawsuit, we are looking for the following: Individuals: Location: Live in any U.S. State other than Louisiana BUT travels to Western Louisiana. Age: 21+ Issue(s): Would apply for a carry permit in Louisiana but can't due to their ban on non-residents. Background: Legally eligible to possess and acquire firearms; no criminal or serious mental health history; could and would meet the requirements to receive a permit in Louisiana but can't due to the residency requirement. I'm not sure this is worth pursuing as both states are now constitutional carry. Louisiana wasn't, but became a constitutional carry state as of July 4th, 2024. I live in MS and work in LA, carrying to and from work. ETA...looks like some parishes (counties) in LA have restrictions, which are in violation of the state preemption statute. |
