Anyone here a member of Pioneer? I’ve emailed them twice in the last two weeks, the last time was the 16th, to inquire about a membership and haven’t received a reply. Trying to find an outdoor range to shoot. I’m currently a member of the Bullet Hole. I went to Golden Valley and that was a huge letdown. |

Eric10mm was... :( I don't know of anyone else. Generally Speaking you have to be sponsored in by a current member in good standing and they would need to go to a business meeting to do so. |

Golden valley is a good place to go of you want to get shot in the back by some inner city yout. |

I am a Pioneer member. You do have to have a sponsor. The process to join the club isn't fun, but it's probably the best measure the club has to protect itself. Your best bet to see the place, meet members if you don't know any, and find a sponsor would be to attend one of the open league activities. Some things like USPSA don't require all participants to be members of the club. The gate is open, and you just show up at the time of the activity. |

Sounds like way too much of a hassle and something I’m not willing to spend months to maybe or maybe not be granted the privilege of joining. |

Missouri is worse than South/Central Florida and that’s saying something. |

I don't think so. Non-members sign a waiver with every visit, and the different leagues might do their own RSO briefings, but other than that, I don't think so. |

Depending upon where you live and how long you intend to live there, it's worth it. The outdoor facility is pretty nice, and you can often get a range to yourself. It doesn't help that the club's site is down right now, but the general process is/was: Submit application with sponsor endorsement. Attend orientation class. This is on a Saturday morning at the outdoor range. Attend meeting and get voted in. This is on a Thursday night at Bass Pro. The way the dates fall on the calendar, this was a 6-8 week thing, but when it's done, it's done. Unless you have a good friend with acreage, a big berm, and a good lane, you're not going to find a better place to shoot on the MO side of the metro area. |

| Depending on where you live in the KC metro area, there is the Lafayette Rod and Gun Club. It's private, $75/year. Nothing fancy but it's decent place to go. It's right near Higginsville. I am a member there as i live just north in Richmond. |
