My former town of Freeman is going through one hell of a struggle right now. Some dick face decided putting a rendering plant 1 mile outside of town was a good idea. They worked on this plan for years, and somehow the stars all aligned and the thing got built. No one was paying attention. Dick face has half the town in his pocket, and is friends with all the right people in government. He is untouchable. It was promised until their faces turned red that the town would never smell it. No one put up a fight because we all believed them or just didn't know it was happening. It was all a fucking lie. They have been running that SOB at full throttle for 9 months now, and it has tore the town apart. If you can imagine, there is a smell much, much worse than death. It's thick, gets in your home, and it just doesn't go away sometimes for days at a time. Can not spend times outdoors - vomit city. Keep an eye on your town. They are going to be building these things all over the state. They're looking for sleepy old towns not paying attention. These things are ultra profitable and the laws are in their favor. Fight to keep them out. That's the only cure - prevention. If you hear of one getting built - get the fuck out as soon as you can before property values plummet. |

Freeman is making progress against the plant. *IF* this plant gets shut down, I guaran-godamn-tee they will be looking for somewhere else to start one up again. You DO NOT want these fuck sticks near your town/acreage/farm. I've been deployed to the sandbox twice, both near shit ponds/burn pits. I thought I served my time in Hell. I had no idea what Hell was until living downwind of a unfiltered rendering plant. The psychological toll it takes on a man to have to live/work in that shit every day is immense. The only way to stop these assholes, is to stop them before they build. They will be exponentially smarter the next time they attempt to do this! Driving force behind this was Scott Stern - Stern Oil guy. With help from his position at the GOED, Dusty Johnson and some local and regional investors. Used our own tax money to destroy town with the GOED funds - super low interest loan. None of the big guys live here. Stern moved to SF. No way he'd live here in this shit. The plant has been shut down for about a week now. I can't remember the last time I've seen so many people out walking around. It's been glorious! But I've sold my house a year ago, still work in town but looking to get out. This town is going to be divided for a long, long time. Lots of hard feelings. Betrayals. Corruption. This is so much deeper than the foul death smell, and this shit is going to linger. Not to mention - the crime has SKYROCKETED. Think about the employees who work in these sorts of plants. No skill jobs that no one else would work other than people looking for work that doesn't require background/drug testing. I absolutely do not ever not have my pistol on me anymore. The employees are upset with our efforts to shut it down. Many of them felons. They have no ties to the community. And our towns drug problems went from non-existent to sky-high. It's all the employees. And there's no telling who has allegiance to who. So and so has a family member who works at the plant. None of them seem to live in town and have to deal with this shit, however. Still makes you slightly paranoid to be outspoken against this place. I've had people I don't recognize drive by yelling BS and trying to spit on me. Before any real efforts started happening at the local government level to put this place in check, I no-shit thought this town was going to be going hot at some point. Shit had reached a boiling point. Thank God Turner County worked with us and cooled this thing off. It was bad. They could have easily just ignored us since Freeman isn't in Turner County. Both the plant and Freeman are basically on the Turner/Hutchinson County lines on opposite sides, making code enforcement impossible for the town of Freeman itself, and almost zero people live in that area of Turner County so Turner County didn't have to cater much to it's own residents. Can't thank God enough for them hearing us out and taking us seriously. |

This is a glimpse into the place. A guy with a drone took pictures. Found 6 semi trailers of dead stock left outside and un-tarped. For who knows how long? These animals could have been dead for weeks before even being loaded on the trailers. And then they get ground up and cooked whole and belched onto town without a functioning filter system. People can’t comprehend the smell until I show them this picture, but this picture is only about 5% of the smell. Most of it is from the cooking.  |

Yankton P&D, Mitchell Republic, Dakota News Now have been covering it. We've reached out to SF news stations several times and they have no interest. Our own paper wouldn't publish anything negative against the place until just very recently. The Courier owner and Stern are friends, and also the plant was advertising in the paper for a while. Stern has tons of friends, and I suspect that may be the reason SF stations didn't pick this up. We've all been reaching out to Dusty. He was talked to during the State Fair. He said something to the effect of "but it doesn't stink every day, does it?" as he tries to downplay this. Uh, no Dusty, maybe not every day, but 3-4 days out of 7 you cannot go outside, you slimy little fucking snake. I pray to God Toby wipes his ass with Dusty - that dude needs to GTFO of government. If it's between Dusty and a Democrat, I will have to hold my nose and vote D for the first time in my life. I won’t vote for a d. I have never voted for crusty, he’s a slimy cocksucker that was foisted on us by the Stern types. The same goes for rounds and thune. Initially, I voted for thune twice and that’s that. Term limit is self-imposed and I just leave it blank. The overseers of Rancid Shitty are scumbags as well. Major blow for the community. If we have a shot at winning, it's now going to take years upon years. @lawyerup I know you focus on civil rights based on what law enforcement does. But I see this as a major rights issue dealing with private business vs citizens. If you need a video idea, the danger of these rendering plants being built in/near sleepy communities needs to go as a warning nationwide so people have a chance to stop these things before they can be built (build these godamn things FAR away from civilization!). This rendering plant is on the road that is the county line and is on the side of Turner County. Freeman, SD is 1 mile away from the county line in Hutchinson County. The people of Freeman have zero say in this. We can't vote out or hold accountable anyone in Turner County. We are completely powerless and the judge basically came out and said we're screwed, and Turner County is to blame. Too bad. Life is absolutely awful here, it's destroying property and making it hard to leave. I was able to sell my house but my commercial property has proven to be impossible to sell or rent out. This is after the rendering plant destroyed my retail business that I just had to auction everything off while it still had value before everything absorbed rotten death and became worthless. Crime is still elevated. Rendering plant employees are working there because they literally cannot work anywhere else. Druggies and felons have been welcomed into our community with arms wide open by this shitty business. I'm at a loss. We're saving our pittance of money we make to get moved far away from here. We simply cannot afford to fight this unless we give up the dream of moving somewhere less dumb. And based on current SD law - it looks like we don't have a solid chance at winning. One small win is we got Crusty Dusty Johnson out of the running.
