As long as the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals puts off issuing rulings on the multiple gun ban cases before it, the cases won't advance to USSC. Some of the gun ban cases waiting in Illinois are dependent on the outcome of gun ban cases waiting for rulings in other states. Gary |

Hi all! I'm moving to Illinois soon. What long guns are folks using while PICA currently stands? My research shows that the Ruger Mini 14/30, M14/Springfield M1A, and CMMG BR Dissent might be the top choices. Is anyone doing something else for self defense rifles? |

You must apply for a Firearm Owner’s Identification Card and complete an endorsement affidavit within 60 days of moving to Illinois. See 720 ILCS 5/24-1.9 and 20 Ill. Admin. Code 1230.15. You may complete an endorsement affidavit while your FOID Card application is pending. If you are denied a FOID card, you can surrender the assault weapon, assault weapon attachment, .50 caliber rifle, or .50 BMG caliber cartridge to law enforcement for safekeeping while seeking relief from such denial. The cmmg dissent br4 is not allowed either...or at least according to them they will not ship them across the river. Don't really know why as it does not meet the deffinetion of an assault rifle by PICA. Yes it has a detachable mag, but none of the other features are on the firearm.
