Make of this what you will. One CT FFL is indicating the following: https://www.facebook.com/LNLFA Lock N' Load Firearms LLC UPDATE ON GLOCKS & CONNECTICUT’S NEW LAW After consulting with attorneys and speaking directly with Glock, we have received additional information regarding the new law taking effect October 1, 2026. Based on that guidance, we do not believe Gen V, Gen 6, or Slimline-series Glocks manufactured after October 1 will be transferable in Connecticut simply because of the generation or model. In other words, any NEW Glock manufactured on or after October 1, 2026 will not be transferable, regardless of generation or model, based on the information we have received from our attorneys and Glock directly. This is important because there has been a lot of discussion suggesting certain generations or models may remain unaffected. Based on the latest information we have, we would not count on that. If you are planning to purchase a Glock, do not wait until the end of September.

There is some fear mongering in that Lock & Load sales pitch. Glocks manufactured before 10/1/2026 will still be legal to transfer. How many 10's of millions of Glocks are out there right now? Technically Glock could manufacture 50 million pistols prior to 10/1/2026 and ship them all to CT. They would all be legal to transfer for umpteen years to come. Perhaps long enough for this unconstitutional BS to be struck down. Are we stocking up on Pre-Ban Glocks so we can capitalize on the inflated price Post-Ban? |

More than a few are going to want to profit on fear. Happens every single time CT Dems ban firearms in CT. We may end up with some FFL's taking the chance and selling Gen V, Gen 6 and any other Glock currently manufactured on or after 10/1. And some FFL's choosing not to sell waiting to see what happens. Not sure we'll see the preban commanding higher prices like we did with AW prebans. And with the looming Viramontes/Grant decision looming over CT it is entirely possible this ban, or what ever CT Democrats propose/enact next legislative session to ban more firearms, could eventually be ruled unconstitutional. And yes Glock could flood CT with pre 10/1 Glocks. Would LOL if they did so just to thumb their nose at CT Democrats. Doubt they will do so simply because we're such a small state population wise, and new Glock sales here probably doesn't move the Glock profit needle. |

Yeah but it sure would be wonderful if Glock reserved a stockpile of G17's & G19's manufactured prior to 10/1 and supplied them to CT FFLs as needed. The ultimate FU to CT. |

If the dems pack a court, they know that the republicans will do the same- they will not pack the courts as they know it will only lead to more packing of the courts. |

That's the question isn't it. Would the GOP actually do it in response to the DNC actually doing it? I don't have faith that the GOP would court pack seeing how time and again they simply do not wield the power they've been given by the voters. But in the end they wouldn't need to pack the court, Democrats would just replace two or possibly three of the current center to right leaning justices with two or three more Ketanji Brown Jacksons. Thomas is 78, Alito is 76 and Roberts is 71. The oldest progressive justice is Sonia Sotomayor at 72. Jackson, at 55, will be there for decades.

I was in Tom's Firearms in Bethany today while he received an update from the state. No Glock sales after 10/1 no matter the production date. I was curious about private transfers as I was there to pick out a Glock as a stag raffle prize and the stag is after 10/1. He was going to call back and get more clarification. |

The way the law is worded it does allow for the sales of certain Glocks. But when coupled with the Firearm Industry Responsibility Act and the loose wording of HB5043 its not surprising this is happening. It all comes down to how the law is interpreted and who is doing that interpretation. Several of the hard core gun grabbers in the CT legislature made it very clear, during legislative debate, that HB5043 was about banning Glock sales entirely. Hopefully when the Viramontes/Grant opinion is released it will help put an end this shitshow and force the lower courts, particularly the 2nd Circuit, to start ruling correctly on any state gun law challenge. What ever SCOTUS decides however will not stop CT Democrats from their end goal of banning guns from the serfs. |
