Ok so looks like rifles and standard cap mags are still ok for now in HI but what paperwork do I need to have on hand at the airport? Is it just go and report/register anything I bring over within 5 days at HPD HQ? What are the storage requirements for transporting rifles in a vehicle? I havent seen much on ammo purchasing locally or online? Is there any companies that will ship over to HI? edited*** I did see a wide selection of gun ranges on Oahu. What do they require for gun paperwork to use their facilities? Oh and do you guys ever do a HI HTF meetup/BBQ/shoot type event? |

By law, you have to take all firearms to HPD main station to register within 5 days of them being physically on Oahu. All vehicle transport must be unloaded, cased, and in the least accessible part of the vehicle. (car trunk or very back of and SUV). No ammo companies will ship ammo here for any reasonable price. some people used to pool together to buy a pallet and split the costs though the great ammo famine has ended that. Paperwork at public ranges not needed, private ranges have their own rules though. |
