I can’t carry a handgun while shotgun hunting?

If my son (8) is hunting, I’m also required to purchase a license? (Out of state adult isn’t exactly the same price as a youth license + stamp)

Is there a minimum shot size in Nebraska? I’d like to shoot these 9s

I just signed up for the new site, then searched for Turkey and realized Spring Turkey permits go on sale on Jan 9, 2023.

I'm no game warden, but I believe you can carry a handgun, just don't use it to shoot any turkeys.

As for the license and ammo, I would call a local game Warden and verify your questions. He or she might have some tips on where to hunt or maybe even some land owners phone numbers. The game wardens numbers should be online or in the guides.

Spoke to a NE game warden today
9 shot is okay
Carrying a handgun for personal defense (not shooting nuisance animals like coyotes or dispatching game animals) is okay

I do not need an additional out of state license if it’s only my minor son hunting

Very productive conversation
