Googling and can't find shit - are destructive devices (like M203, etc) legal in MN? It'd be nice to do an AR/M203 clone  From what I can gather, "some DDs" are prohibited, which probably means things like the old Cobray Street Sweeper and shit like that that was declared a DD after the fact...but I can't find anything to back that up, either. I mean I can always get an 37mm barrel too, but it'd be nice to do the full fat 40mm... |

Well there is only 1 "09" FFL in MN and that is Streichers in Plymouth See ATF List So the market does not look very big. Perhaps you could call them or better yet go in there. They are easy to find off 55 west of 169. MN Law |

Streichers is the the only type 09, but there's a bunch of type 10s (manufacturer of DD)...hm. There's apparently a form at the Department of Public Safety/Bureau of Criminal Apprehension that's similar to the C&R MG form that you need to fill out before buying one? I guess I'll give them a call and find out, though I bet the person I talk to has no idea about how this all may or may not work... |

Called BCA...they have no idea, they told me to call DPS Called DPS, they have no idea; I told them BCA told me to call them, so they sent me to State Police State Police said "hold please, I'll transfer you" before I could say much and just sent me back to BCA... sigh |

KAC leaf sight is pretty spot on for the M203 with full power chalk rounds. I'd assume your launcher is flat top so you could mount any 1913 front sight to line up with. Pretty easy to use, you'd just have to play with the elevation as your flight characteristics are different among those different projectiles. The XPS-2 SAGE is not even close for my uses. Was designed for a 37mm LTL launcher. Again, this is based off full power chalk. Had it out this weekend and the "4" range BDC was where I was hitting at 100 yards. Nice sight picture and easy to point/shoot. Just takes some time to learn and test. |
Finally got my stamp back, built an upper for it…found out that the B Kings gov’t profile barrel is just off enough so you can’t mount a 203 to it  …so I wound up using an upper I had been sitting on for it instead.

Eventually! I ordered a bunch of aluminum cases and pre-made chalk payloads from KAK, sadly like 3 or 4 out of the 12 I ordered were cracked or broken in transit; I need to mail them and see if something can be done  I mainly ordered them pre-constructed simply as a "well, I needed the zinc pushers anyway...may as well send them complete" thing. It's really hard to justify buying a 3d printer just to print windscreens and I don't really do the whole 3d print frames for Glocks thing, so...I'll probably just order some windscreens from there and buy a tub of chalk from Menards and just do that.I want to find/buy a beehive round or two, but those are $$$$$$$$$$$$$ and I'm not sure the juice is worth the squeeze. I say that fully aware of the irony of buying a 40mm in the first place |

| Been wondering about legality of DD's in MN for awhile, specifically 40MM, glad to see some discussion on it. Is there any gray area to this? I can't find anything in MN statutes that discusses large bore firearms or anything specific to DD's and I interpret any potentially relevant statutes (MN 609.668 EXPLOSIVE AND INCENDIARY DEVICES) as relating to non-firearm DD's. I assume NFA registration is all that's needed and then gtg? |
