My letter to GRNC after their "we'll ask the AG" email. I believe the way forward on bringing Silencer Shop v ATF and Jensen v ATF changes to NC - for the plaintiff class members - is a Federal lawsuit, in the a 4th Circuit district court, against the state. It would be an equal protection (14th Amendment) tort. The other states in the 4th Circuit (WV MD - for now - VA and SC) have no state level restrictions on suppressor purchases and FFL are transferring suppressors on 4473s to GOA, FPAC, SAF, CCRKBA members (and of course Silencer Shop and PSA customers). And yes, as a life GRNC member I am also a member of all of those organizations. All GRNC members that are also members of one of all of those organizations (or Silencer Shop and PSA customers) are being denied the relief afforded by Silencer Shop v ATF and Jensen v ATF. That is a real harm caused by the state. The NC DOJ isn't going to do anything. AG Jackson is as anti RKBA as Josh Stein and Roy Cooper were as AG. The General Assembly? You know they are feckless. GRNC cannot go alone. All 2A advocacy groups have to put their shoulder to the wheel and keep the momentum going. |

GRNC wants to pursue legislative action. The GOP doesn't have a veto-proof majority and Stein will probably veto. Maybe enough How long did it take to get rid of pistol purchase permits? 2013-2023? And overriding Cooper's veto. GRNC fought that one long and hard. If you're not a member, join. Seriously. Join. They're our "GOA" even if they're not our 'SAF'. Silencer Shop v ATF took 13 months. |

Talked to my local rep Todd Carver and he said Congressman Pat Harriman are gonna work on changes during the upcoming session in Jan. He said everyone in his circle are supportive to getting the NC laws changed. He did say not to expect anything until around Jan because that's their next session of Congress. Keep in mind lots of things can change after the November election, so everyone get out and vote. |
