UPDATE Went and did a recon today. Tried a couple of different trail heads. The Wood Run Trailhead and Jumping Off Rock trailhead were packed due to races. Continued on up and hit the Robbins Branch Trailhead in the Birkhead Mountain Wilderness. JACKPOT Off the beaten path a bit and since it’s a Wilderness area, we can do more than just walk along the trail. Trying to determine the legality/practicality/optics for rucking with rifles, but this is where we will be meeting on 3/9. I am working on getting us some topo maps in 1:25,000 of the trail systems. |
