Hello! I posted this in the oddly named NASCAR thread I obviously have a few questions and I am not from the area. Is anyone going to the New Hampshire race? Has anyone been before? I have a few questions: What is traffic like in the area? We are trying to show up around driver introductions and leave after the checkered. I know to park near the exits to be one of the first to leave to avoid the parking lot jam. How long of a walk is it from the stands to the parking lots? Which parking lot should we try to go into? We will be heading back to the Portland Maine area then up to the Acadia area after the race, is it better to park so you exit to the north or exit to the south? From what I understand the parking lots only let you exit one way, so you have to choose the correct parking lot when we get there. How do you know which parking lot to choose? What is the best route home (which will dictate north/south) When arriving to the race what should be expect for traffic especially if we are getting there right around the start time? What is cell service like in the area? Will there be gas stations within 10 miles of the track heading in both directions with bathrooms? Any other info about the area would be greatly appreciated. We are obviously not from the area. |

Disclaimer. I've never been and I don't live near there. I can confirm that Verizon works well there as I bought a trailer right next door to the track a couple weeks ago(marked as SR1 Containers on Google Maps). I don't know if the signal gets overwhelmed at the race. NH DOT MAY put out a traffic plan and announce it on their site. Here is one for the June 2024 race. No guarantees they'll release one this year or on time for anyone to act on. Also no guarantees that they will use the same plan. Super helpful.  Yes to the gas stations, although anticipate it being crowded. Much more options to the south. The main shopping area for Concord is just south of there with plenty of stations and big box stores with restrooms. Can't help you with where to park or how to get over to Portland as the only times I've gone to Portland, it was via 25 which starts in Ossipee. Out of your way a bit. Note there are tolls around there. Some may not have cash options. There are plenty of bypasses that waze or google maps will take you around if you choose to. I've never been through any of those there, but NH does have EZ Pass and also EZ Pass 7 days to pay for those without a transponder or account (like me). If you do the 7 days to pay, save the emailed receipt and also the receipt that pops up on your screen when you pay. Different numbers on each. Reasons to save is a good third of the time I'll get a bill saying I didn't pay. They'll need one number from the email and one from the on screen receipt to file a dispute. Map of tolls. Go right out of the stadium onto Rt 106 and take this route. After a race there is a lot of traffic in every direction but this should get you to Portland the fastest. Attached File |

I have been a good handful of times both for Nascar and Indy when it was there. Loudon and the rest of the Police there direct traffic very well as far as I recall, yes backups but you never sat for more than a minute at most I felt. It typically moved into the raceway very well. As well as leaving was good too if not better as both directions were only 1 way North went North and South went South. Try and get there at least 3 hours before racetime as you may be parked a long walk away. hopefully you park where there are shuttles Anyway have fun enjoy the day |
