The family is looking to get a vacation home that we can also rent out on AirBnB. It is in the Mt Pocono area if that helps. We figure its close enough for a weekend trip, and lots of stuff to do in the area for rental business. Are the laws in the area staying STR friendly? Anything we should look out for? Bad/Good areas? |

| You will be hated by the locals so be prepared to deal with that. STRs have been under attack from most townships recently. Lots of inventory hitting the market in that area. I’m in the Pocono Lake area. Feel free to shoot me an IM if you need any specific info. |

We took a weekend and looked around. Best place we found was the Arrowhead Lake community near Mt. Pocono. Going for a large contemporary home that gives vacation feel. As for STR it was just to offset some of the costs. I looked at the numbers and saw that there was no way we could buy now and rent enough to cover a mortgage. I also saw that the number of houses in the "vacation" communities that are for sale is pretty insane. |
