Hey guys, I’m almost certainly moving to the south end of Overland Park in the next couple months. We are scheduled to close the end of the month, but shit can happen. Any way, my wife and I are big on cars, shooting/reloading and fine dining. I know it’s not going to have open BLM land like Vegas. Or the dining opportunities. Can you guy recommend some places that will satisfy our interest? We’ll be just east of Johnson County Executive Airport. A Ford turner is a huge plus. I have a 2003 cobra that needs retuned. Hello and welcome to the area. There are a fair amount of car clubs in the area, but that is not my scene so can't make any recommendations on that front. One car themed business that has been popping up lately is "car condos" A private community that you buy a garage in and most of the people are storing their fun cars there. Buying reloading supplies - Scheels on 135th and Metcalf is your best bet. Penguin Pawn has a fair amount of stuff but that will be further away for you. Olathe Gun shop is pretty solid place to check out firearms. Ranges - you have Hillsdale Lake and Centerfire Shooting Sports will be the closest. You can ask on ARF for an invite to Mill Creek Rifle Range (Member Only). If shotguns are your sport, Powder Creek is a nice place. There are a lot of other cool places to go, just matters on how far you want to drive. Fancy Dining - pretty much anywhere in Leawood or the Plaza. Downtown KCMO has some nice places, as does Overland Park. Have any certain things you want to talk about, fire out a question; there are a lot of people that watch this board. |

Thank you for the recommendations. I’m actually in Overland Park right now. Here for a job interview. We closed on the house and our official move date is the 25th of this month. I can’t wait to go hunting again. Nevada large game is a lottery, and luck has never been on my side. But it seems like Kansas is a little better in that aspect. And I heard you guys have some thick whitetails. Thank you again |
