Just bought a house in Captain cook. We will be moving in November/December. I’ll be bringing some firearms but will have to leave a bunch behind in NV (my NFA stuff and handgun mags). What’s the status on rifle mags over 10 rounds? I remember reading they were on the chopping block but haven’t found any updates. I’m not planning on a lot of target shooting, but when I do where can I even do that on the island? I’d like to do some hunting as well. I’m not sure where to get started. I know there’s a lot more private land than what I’m used to. We are pretty excited. We have a ton to figure out! If you have any suggestions related to island life Im all ears! |

If you have any suggestions related to island life Im all ears! I'm on the Big Island, Hamakua side. Rifle mags over 10 rounds are still legal as far as I know. No public ranges on island, you'll need to find a friend with land. Plenty of public hunting land but the season for birds is pretty short. Pigs and goats are year round but, again, you need to make friends with someone to learn the ropes. |
