In my state (Maryland) concealed carry permit holders are not supposed to go armed to a political protest. I don't know if that is by statute or just policy (we take away your permit if you do this). What does Minbesota law or policy say about this subject? You know why I am asking. |
| There is no law regarding going to a protest carrying. Dude that got popped didn't have his DL or permit to carry on him which is technically illegal but only a petty misdemeanor. Plenty of images over the last day of open carrying AR leftist now. There was last week as well. Completely legal here. |

The carrying is not the problem, and as mentioned even not having his DL/permit with isnt a huge problem as long as he was actually legal. Regardless of having a permit and it being legal for him to carry that day, he chose to break the law while doing so, which makes having a permit moot. |

Ive open carried a Cz scorpion pistol at a pro gun protest at the capitol. Even carried it around in the capitol building with rounds in my magazine lol. They seriously would not allow me to bring in my sign though as it was dangerous. It was on a wooden pole. Im not joking. But it was a peaceful protest. There was no rioting, no fighting with the police and no other bs. All things were done lawfully. |

This - just because one has a driver's license doesn't mean they get to ram Fed LE vehicles because of a disagreement - same as having a CCW, being armed, and deciding to go hands-on with Fed LE. Had he not been armed he probably would have walked away with an ass beating. Had he been arrested the first (few) times he did the same thing (videos got out to BBC, the brits, of him getting hands-on in previous ICE protests as well), it might have prevented his death this time too. The MN CCW course is broadly a state mandated 7 hour thing - there's an hour or two spent on the legalities of where to carry, when you can use your weapon in self defense, etc. A couple of hours on basic gun safety and manipulation. And another 2-3 hours on NOT BEING A MORON WHEN ARMED...which this dude clearly failed at. Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should do something. Basically dude set up his own death due to stupidity. Oh well. |
