I've never seen a deer tick in my 49 years in south central MN until this year. Now I've found 2 already this year, one on my dog and one on me. This is from my suburban back yard, not out in the woods. A coworker is doctoring for the stereotypical bullseye rash of Lyme as of last week. Is the range changing? Weather allowing spread? Anyone else seeing increased tick numbers early this year? |
| I'm up in central MN. We've had them here for 25+ years. The numbers rise and fall, I haven't figured out a rhyme or reason. They have a longer season than dog ticks, I've found them when there is snow on the ground in the spring and when deer hunting in November. I just put Frontline on the dogs a few days ago. I need to get busy and soak some clothes in permethrin. |

Anyone else seeing increased tick numbers early this year? I'd seen deer ticks from western Wisconsin to Duluth to Willmar when I lived in MN. That was from 1989 to 2018. They're around and have been for quite some time. |
