I’ve got a Mini 14 Ranch in the way. I’m planning to have it sent off that have it cut down and threaded for a break. This is the first long gun I’ve bought since the ban. Not the most exciting option, but other than an M1A, it’s the only thing compliant I’m interested in. At least since the MCX Regulator sale ended. What have you bought since the ban, that’s still fun? |

I was looking into the Mini 14 ranch as well. I need 1 legit and compliant rifle. I know they have these in McHenry for sale but I always find an excuse not to get it. As far as the threading I have no idea if that frowned upon or not by the MAN in this state. I might wait until some of the case get looked at by the Supreme court thus nullifying IL laws. edit: to answer the question only fun stuff I bought was PVS14 and Dbal for my nonexistent AR15. |

Threaded rifle barrels are legal, says so in the ISP sight. Muzzle breaks are ok FHs are not. |

My lgs is convinced that SA factory flash suppressors are fine because “the ATF ruled them not to be flash suppressors”. I think they may be referring to a National Match flash suppressor, because they are over drilled and no longer function as a flash suppressor, but I do t know that for sure. |

Attached File The Muzzle breaks mentioned is the Springfield armory break which goes on a threaded barrel. Several semi auto rifles with threaded barrels can be purchased in IL. |

This was an interesting read. Somehow I thought the m1a and mini14 were banned just due to removable mag. Weird they had such a hard on for the sks 20 round fixed box mag I have actually been practicing with a lot of lever guns and revolvers and old bolt guns. I always thought 100+ year old designs are still valid |

I tried to buy a picatinny rail for a 22 bolt action bench rest build today, PA would not sell it to me because it’s considered an AR accessory, not going to Illinois. |
