I got a call, "you're flying out to Anchorage in the morning". Well OK. I made it in and I've never been here before. Should have 3 or 4 hours of daylight each day after I get off work, here for 4 days. Must sees? Places to get good food? Looking to get a local experience rather than typical Google posted tourist crap. I'm an outdoors guy and would like to take in some neat stuff while I'm here. Any help would be much appreciated. |

Hatcher pass in Palmer. Beluga point south of town. Not sure how the 49th state brewing in Anchorage is. Used to always like them but had a laughably bad experience at the one in Healy this year and know others that had a similar experience. King street brewing always delivers though. Matanuska brewing in Palmer isn’t bad either. A few glaciers not terrible far away. |

Thank you for the info. I've heard mixed reviews om 49th here as well so I'll pass. I hit the Moose's Tooth last night for dinner and had a pretty good reindeer pizza. Drove up and hiked around Eklutna Lake last night after work. Pretty spot. Tonight I'm going south toward Whittier. Gonna hike in to Byron Glacier. I'll stop at Beluga Point too. I've got most of tomorrow off and fly out late so I think I'm just going to go for a drive. As far as Talkeetna at least. Just see what I can see and get a bit closer to Denali while I'm here. |

| I appreciate the Hatcher Pass suggestion. That was a great drive. Went over and then on up to Talkeetna. Good view of Denali today. And I did the Matanuska Brewing Company for dinner. Back in the airport and ready to fly out. It was a quick trip but I loved it and now I plan to come back. |
