The problems with that gun were well known way before that fellow's incident. SIG has drug this out long enough without meaningful effort to fix the problem and prevent more injuries. I think it's the pretensioned striker design along with subpar quality in both machining tolerance and materials quality. They just refuse to scrap the whole line and the only real option is them saying to carry it with an empty chamber which defeats the whole purpose of defensive carry. I hope this guy is adequately compensated. |

The news report is done in a way that makes the news crew seem a bit full of themselves. They "uncovered" this issue, when it was already well known some time ago? Have they also heard that we landed astronauts on the moon? Then they try to imply that Sig went in a radical unsafe direction by not putting a manual safety on the gun? How many decades has the industry been cranking out designs without a thumb or grip safety? |
