I'll be in your town sometime next spring. Looking for Motel recommendations. I want a place where I can park right outside my door and walk in my room, not enter a lobby and enter thru interior doors. Options? |

I don’t live there, but I do stay there regularly. The Clubhouse has some rooms like that, you might have to request it. The Ramkota is next door and has them too, but last year their air handler went out and they didn’t replace it until recently. Now when you walk in, it reeks like a cesspool. There are some other shitholes there too, but I won’t stay at any of them. |

In Pierre, for something fancy, I'd recommend the ground floor Clubhouse Hotel and Suites. If you are looking for middle of the road, the ground floor Governors Inn. My favorite dive is the Pierre Inn and Suites (where I stayed an entire summer while interning at the AG's office). It's actually not that bad at all. You can get into your room on both the upper and ground floor without going through any lobbies. It's right across the tracks from the Dakotamart which was a nice bonus. |
