My dad was at Redstone Arsenal from 1968 to 1970. Grissom High School was built during that period, on Bailey Cove Road. We lived in the Willowbrook Apartments, right next door, and I remember riding my bike on that big, freshly paved parking lot. Now it appears to have moved. When did that happen? |

GHS Class of ‘89 here. Edited for lack of reading comprehension . My great aunt and uncle lived in those apartments then. Building closest to Bailey Cove entrance to that big parking lot. Seems they were second or third door from school lot. I used to ride my go cart, 3hp Briggs in that huge lot. As a kid it seemed as big as Talladega. Good times.

The first building on the right in Bailey Cove Circle had some of the Pizitz extended family. We were in 8203 Willowbrook Circle, first floor. Can't believe I'm pulling those names and addresses out of my head at this point, lol My brother and I went to Whitesburg Elementary for a while. |

| Wow, I also went to Whitesburg, first through eighth. David Pizitz was in my class at several points. My great aunt that lived where you did went by Sissy, she was a sweetheart of a great aunt. I grew up off Mira Vista, which hit Bailey Cove on the other end of GHS. I’m sure we know a lot of the same people, that was a fairly tight knit community considering the population. |

A kid in my class, Steve something, lived off that road. His parents boarded horses, I think, something like that, sort of behind Grissom. Andy Schenk was a good friend, he lived on one of the first couple of streets behind the U-Tote'em, or whatever it was called. Looks like it's a Marathon station now. Mrs. Sullivan was my 6th grade teacher at Whitesburg. And a guy in my Scout troop, Tim something, I think lived on Mira Vista too. |
