| Im from NW Iowa. Been truck hunting for months and the Ford dealer in Huntley has exactly the truck Ive been looking for. Looks like it would be probably 7hrs one way. I know nothing about the Chicago area, hoping Huntley is far enough outside of it. Fairly safe? I just checked out the other threads on carry in vehicle, at least I can have a pistol on me. Thanks for any insight! |

OP You ould be good to go in Huntley IL. Huntley was an old farming community that has become "gentrified" over the years as many suburbanites from the Chicagoland area have relocated there. Huntley is home to The St. Charles Sportsman Club, one of the best trap, skeet and sporting clay venues in northern Illinois. I know this first hand because I was a member there before I relocated to WI. Gary |

Huntley has a large Del Webb community (over-55) just north of 90. Huntley Ford is also just north of 90; watch for inattentive Amazon trucks and workers. Sidewalks start rolling up at 8-ish pm  More Brewing is also right there but isn't so good, if ya want a decent beer while in town head north about 4 miles on 47 to Sew Hop'd (closes at 9). Or, same distance, Dairy Mart for ice cream.

I live out near Huntley. Its a good and safe area. Do the usual head-on-a-swivel thing when at filling stations, especially along the interstate or Rt. 72. Also, lots of seniors on the road due to the Del Webb community as mentioned. Reach out if you need anything while here. |
