A literal fire mission IMHO. ABC3340 News Clip Last night and tonight, ABC3340 was showing a segment about a woman who says a pack of dogs is terrorizing her neighborhood. The pack has killed several small pets, and been aggressive towards kids and adults. The Gadsden Animal Control only has 5 employees and says that they are trying to trap the dogs.  Hmm, in my last AO in Elmore County, the local police wouldn't involve animal control, other than to collect the corpses for lab analysis. I cannot stand vicious dogs, especially near children. Any ARFCOM guys up there? |

OP here. Backstory on my opinion / feelings. 30 years ago, my wife and kids (toddlers at the time) were in the process of being attacked by a large vicious dog in our own yard after coming home from the store. Fortunately, our small poodle charged in to defend them, and was badly mauled as she got the kids inside. Neither she nor the kids got bit, thank goodness. I was in the back of the house and heard the screaming, and all I could do at the time was to run outside with a broom and beat the large dog. He let our dog go and went to the street and then started growling at me. I went inside and got a pistol from a lockbox, but the large dog was gone when I went back outside. We had to take our dog to the emergency vet. He survived, fortunately. I found out who owned the dog, and they were indifferent to what had happened, even after I mentioned my wife and kids being the original target. I had to file a small claim against them to get reimbursed for the vet bills. Lesson learned; after that, I always had a firearm close to the door, even after we moved to another city. I will not tolerate a vicious dog in my yard again. |
