his wife just posted on his status Late yesterday afternoon, surrounded by family singing one of his favorite hymns, Richard went to be with the Lord. To know him was to love him. I have loved him for 42 years -- 5 as good friends, 6 as we were dating and engaged, and 31 as the best husband and, later, father in the world -- and I will always love him. We are heartbroken and devastated, but we're comforted to know that He is healed and with our Lord and Savior. |

So sorry to hear this. I met him a few times at Montgomery gun shows. I tried to buy an Armalite / Charter Arms AR-7 from him once, that a woman had just looked at and then put down. While we were talking and "dealing", she came up, took the rifle from my hands and threw money at Richard, saying "it's mine, here's your money". And so it was. We laughed about that incident every time we saw one another afterwards. He also used to call into local radio shows in Montgomery a lot. RIP Richard. |

The arrangements for Richard's funeral services are as follows: Visitation on Monday, September 22nd, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Gassett Funeral Home in Wetumpka. Visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. and service at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel at Gassett Funeral Home in Wetumpka on Tuesday, September 23rd. A short graveside service will follow at Coosa River Cemetery. |

Thanks for the info. Obit now posted: Hardshell's Obit Very familiar with that church and cemetery. My wife's maternal grandad was Primitive Baptist and a lot of her family members are buried in there. |
