Does anyone have info on 55+ communities in the Gulf Shores area? My wife and I will be spending a decent amount of time looking for one this year, and will be at Orange Beach later this month to check out the area. Obviously the first choice will be The Villages or similar in Florida, but open to other ideas. |

I asked my aunt, who used to live in GS (she now lives in Fairhope). She said to google the info, because a lot of "communities" have changed ownership in the last few years and it's hard to keep up with (at least for her). I'm old enough to remember when GS was like "Mayberry" on the beach - lots of family owned properties and such. But Camille, Frederick, Ivan, and Katrina, and other hurricanes made that kind of ownership hard, due to insurance mainly. Good luck. |
