I had purchased an engine off ebay and the seller sent me a box of junk instead of freighting me an engine. I've been fighting with Ebay since June trying to recover my $6,000.. but they aren't helping since the seller supplied them with tracking numbers for the junk he shipped me. I've filed a police report here locally and the investigators say they are trying to identify the guy, but Ebay isn't giving up his contact info. Paypal has suggested that I send the junk back to the sellers address before they can help me with a refund. I didn't have their address since the package was shipped from a UPS store. Paypal emailed me today with the sellers address, but will not give me his name. The address is an apartment in North Dallas. It's Bishop North Apartments at 200 North Bishop Ave, Apt 448. Is there anyone that's connected to that area or knows someone who could find out if that apartment is occupied or who lives there? |

That area is actually in a part of town called Oak Cliff. Which is half ghetto slum, half gentrified yuppie. Hard to tell where your scumbag seller lives or works based on the address. Especially if it's a 4th floor(assuming). That address only shows on tax rolls as having two floors. One business at that address is Jungle Fitness. You could call them and ask if the suite/apt is even at that address. There was a California #hashtag influencer bar on the first floor there called Casablanca but I think they went out of business. https://www.casablancadtx.com/ |

That's not North Dallas, it's South. I would call it a transition area. Could be good or bad. Guaranteed a good place for a scammer to live. I don't spend much time over there anymore, I'm too old to go hang out and see what's up without possibly of getting my ass kicked or shot. Be careful if you venture into that area. |

I would call the leasing office and ask for the manager. Explain the situation. Your shipper might be a shit bag and they know it. They likely won’t tell you anything of value but for that. If that doesn’t work, try the office of the management company (easily found). Ask for the regional manager of ‘whatever-apartments’. HR issues will be the problem on this route. |

I only filed with paypal after Ebay told me that the seller stated on his auction the item was not returnable and that the seller uploaded tracking information that shows delivery to my address. |
