There were 2 versions. The Senate version died in committee and the House version made it through. It was written and introduced by two Republicans and a Democrat. Felsher from the coast and Boyd from Tupelo. The Dem was Denton from Vicksburg. Since those are already covered by Fed law, I'm not sure why it was needed here. One of those fudd feel-good things I guess. I'm sure Dilbert pushed this and the rest just kept quiet. |

Local judicial system in Jackson won't charge them either. If they do get charged 80%+ of the sentence will be suspended. I rag on JPD plenty but at the end of the day they arrest plenty of bad guys but the judges let them right back on the street and the DA's office got raided by the FBI. |
