All items seized in the service of a warrant are documented. They are photographed, inventoried and a copy of the inventory list of items taken is provided to the owners. It will have the name of the agency written at the top. If the author / reporter who wrote the article is a "crime reporter" they should have known and didn't ask the right questions. Also, every person supporting the service of a warrant has a uniform, badges, shirt, raid jacket identifying who they are. This so LE can identify everyone inside the perimeter. Whole thing sounds suspect. |

Whole thing sounds suspect. On this we agree. My biggest heartburn with Federal Agencies is it's next to impossible to hold them accountable. Even if a Federal Judge signs off (appointed for life and never have to face voters for their actions) Federal LE can come in and make trouble and disappear into the night. At least state and local agencies have leadership in reasonable proximity to answer for the actions of their employees. Of course, the only truly elected LEO is a County Sheriff. |
