hey guys I have been around here for awhile, met quite a few of you in person, and I'm hoping the power of ARFCOM can come into play here. At every opportinity there seems to be a member that has or knows exactly what to do in any instance and opportunity. We live on a farm, and we produce beef and goat meat and products, as well as chicken and eggs in the works now. this is not my primary business, but we are enjoying the REAL food and everythng that comes with living in a small town. I had this idea a few weeks ago, because we have been churning through the breeding stock i have on the farm, and there is no easy way to sell or buy livestock outside of the sale barn or going to one of the registered organizations, and many times their interface is terrible and not user friendly. we could of course go to Facebook, and we did, like so many others, but Facebook specificaly prohibits selling animals and livestock, so people have to dance around their terms in private messages and private groups that make it complicated and just not simple. i decided to do something about it... my wife and i came up with this concept, and its launched live now We’re building PastureSwap, a free agricultural marketplace designed to connect farmers, ranchers, breeders, farmers markets, and local buyers. Sellers can create their own storefront, list livestock or farm goods, and easily share those listings with customers. Verified farmers market pages can also connect shoppers directly with participating sellers. We’re also adding downloadable marketing materials to make it easier for producers to promote their storefront and listings. PastureSwap is currently free to use, and we’re beginning our growth in Texas. I'm particularly proud of the map featuring the farmers markets and stands, based on your location, that took some work to get working correctly, but i think we have a standout feature there I look forward to feedback and please feel free to use and list as many items or animals as you care to sell or trade. we currently get about 1k visitors per day, and i finally pushed the account creation live, so the marketplace is open. I plan to list our farm products shortly, but this is in no way a plug for the farm, I'm looking to build the online marketplace to make real food accessible and more easy to find |

I dealt with Facebook posts and people no showing or just ghosting me after a few messages back and forth. That's part of what drove me to do this, there's got to be an easier way in this day and age |

Sounds like a good idea. My Dad does goats, but he's thinned his herd for the year. Sometimes he does well at the auction, sometimes he doesn't. But he usually has to haul them 2 hours to like Goldwaithe or Hamilton to get decent money. He's getting too old to run up and down the road. Keep us posted on your site. I'm the what the USDA calls a "specialty crop" producer. I'm sending 14,000 rosemary seedlings to Louisiana next week. That's just the tip of the iceberg. But I'm not a farmer in the traditional sense. |

the app and website are live, have several people that have posted items all over i built out the map search better, i like that feature a lot since when i need stuff, i can see where it is accounts are free, and the rest of the site is free we have a meeting with my local farmers market people to let them claim their listing i have on the farmers market and farm stand page, they can then manage their schedules and time and all that... i have come to realize that many small town farmers markets or roadside stands have almost no online presence, outside of several Facebook or Instagram Posts, but that stuff gets lost in the clutter and noise im hoping this becomes like a directory, think of it like the old craigslist... before facebook took over. you can post stuff for sale, with pictures and have people come buy it or trade it if you grow or sell anything that comes from the land, livestock, plants etc, feel free to make a listing and share it, it may help you sell it, and it helps grow the traffic and awareness about the platform existing. if you have a suggestion or changes that we could add or implement, send me a message, im game to tweak this to make it work better...
