What states have the most inbreeding? Inbreeding is more common in the following states: Washington, Oregon, Montana, South Dakota, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and Maine. ___ Oregon gets second place.  This is something that just randomly came up while I was researching something else. |

| Weird but then again weird is what Portland aims for. I got some unkind comments once when I was dancing with my cousin at a street dance. He is such a distant cousin that I don't know exactly how we're related (his grandmother and my grandmother's grandmothers were sisters). So I think inbreeding is pretty taboo. |

Other articles show other states are highest: 9)South Carolina 8) Tennessee 7) Louisiana 6) Oklahoma 5) Arkansas 4) Alabama 3) Mississippi 2) Kentucky #1...West Virginia! And I found at least three other articles with different orders of inbreeding. Kentucky was often a top three contender. |
