There is a Rifle that is for sale in NY that I want to get but trying to find a FFL that will transfer from an individual.  Is that still a thing?  Also I know NY is odd.

It’s been awhile since I did an out of state none ffl shipped to ffl buy.

Seems like fewer and fewer will accept from an individual.  Home FFLs seem more likely.  

Someone just posted in this Forum about a new shop in Cullman that accepts from individuals.  So some still do, but Cullman is likely farther than you want.

Gold, Guns, and Guitars in Madison have accepted transfers from individuals for me before. They charge $20/item.

I'd check with Redstone Pawn in Huntsville.  I've had great experiences with them.  I tried the AR Bar Armory and was not impressed.  Larry's is not great.  You can also try Bullet and Barrel, they are a little pricey but very polite.
