Just curious.

For example, You are a Swiss citizen but live and work in France or Italy and want to shoot shotgun sports or Cowboy Action shooting.

Are you allowed to buy/own firearms outside your own country?  I'm sure it depends on the country, but are there any countries that allow other EU citizens to buy/own guns?

Knew a Canadian shooter that lived here for a while.

For EU travel you get a card for sports shooting/hunting BUT not for collectors.

So a Swiss Cowboy shooter that lives and works in France and have his buy and own his cowboy guns in France?   I supposed he has to be part of a club.

most of the time you purchase the guns in the country you are a permanent resident in.

I would say yes, in this case. as a swiss living in Italy, you could be a gun owner in italy.

but its often long to obtain the permanent resident permit that is good enough

Cool thanks guys.  No reason for the question.  Just curious.

Hey Shung, it is still easy to get rifles in CHE?  What about pistols?   Any limits on numbers you can collect?

no limit.

since the EU forced its laws upon us, you need a specific permit to get handguns with mags with more than 20 rounds and semi auto rifles with more than 10 rounds..

in practice it hasnt changed anything, but for these guns, a RIGHT became some kind of privilege. Which is some kind of huge change of paradygm

Any word on anything coming down the pike, or has the gun control situation stabilized?

Didnt the Swiss Swiss themselves vote for these changes in a referendum?

Norway, you just have to have legal residence and it helps to be able to document firearms ownership abroad. You are also obliged to show a clean criminal record from your home country.

not really.. our politicians fucked us.. they basically made it a referendum on the end of the world. and people believe it. We won the last gun referundum on guns when the EU was not involved by 57% in 2013

basically they said. either you pass these gun laws or its the end of the world because the EU will retaliate.. and all parties but 1 pushed for this... even on the right...

guns were never the topic..

You gotta be a citizen here in Hungary.

The laws are fucked beyond fucked for stuff.

It's legal but it's a complicated process of going to a shrink two times in one year and then you get your sporting permit.

Yeah, the mental health screening can be abused and basically used to deny for no reason.  The Ds would LOVE to do that here.
