So, I had a Puggle for several years and really miss my Brando. I haven't had another 4 legged buddy to keep my sanity and share life with. I find myself wondering off the path and falling into bad habits like drinking to keep some form of sanity. I think that the Blue Heeler is my type of Dog and really don't know much about them. Do any of Y'all have one that I can spend time with to figure out if it is the proper choice? |

OP, not trying to change your mind here, but please consider a rescue. Totally understand you’d like specific traits in the pup and perhaps a specific appearance. There are thousands of dogs of all shapes and sizes available for rescue and you may find the perfect one from all those choices. Rescues are also some of the most loving and loyal dogs out there. You’d definitely have a friend for life. You can also volunteer to foster rescues as well. Get a pup out of a crate and give it a good life until it finds a forever home. | Fellow disabled vet here. Best dog I ever had, I found abandoned. Tied to a tree on a dead end road that I just happened to go down to explore one day. I've had him 9 years now, and he is an absolute joy of a dog. Head to the rescue and you'll find your next best friend |

| No idea what your lifestyle is like, with that said, I’d look elsewhere. Blue Heeler’s are great dogs, but they literally have endless energy or can. Neighbor across from us have one, along with 3 kids (13, 10 and 8)…they cannot wear that dog out, they also have a horse farm they help with 3 days a week and that doesn’t put a dent in him either. Again, great dogs, but they take an enormous amount of activity to keep them sane. If you can get one that isn’t as driven they are Velcro and extremely loyal, good luck. |
| Yup, sounds like fun. As a Vet it's a given that I am driven to serve others before myself. Limping back to my shed after providing to others is sorta how I roll. Pushing myself beyond what I think I can achieve is an awesome way to form a selfless bond to another 4 legged buddy! |
