If any of you guys are near Delano, yhe Delano Sportsmen's Club (DSC) is having their annual gun show on January 11, 2025 from 11am to 3pm. I'll have a display set up on 4 or 5 tables, it will be a lot of very interesting and historical firearms, so come down and see part of my gun collection! The DSC's annual gun show is and extremely small event, it's normally something that the club members go to and hang out. But, we do get a decent amount of non-club people coming through and checking things out. Something you should all know about this "gun show," it's literally the smallest gun show that you will ever visit! The DSC is a small shooting club in Delano, MN, and we have a small membership compared to the big clubs around the state. Each year we have a tiny gun show in our clubhouse by the shooting range, and there's only 4 or 5 people with displays set-up for the "gun show." So, this is the exact opposite of the large gun shows that many of you guy have been to over the years! This will be my 4th year having a display at this event, and I bring a lot of really unique items that you'll never see elsewhere (not even in museums). I don't have anything for sale, but people are able to see, handle, and even dry fire a bunch of really amazing and historical firearms! That's a lot better than going to a museum and trying to look at firearms from a few feet away through a glass window! There is always a pistol dealer who sets up a few tables full of handguns that are for sale. If you're in the market for a new handgun, then you should see what this dealer brings to our gun show! He's an FFL and is able to process 4473's on the spot. And then there's the other DSC members who set up small displays (usually a single table per person, about 2 or 3 people with displays) with their family heirloom and hunting firearms. None of these guns are for sale, these are club members who just want to bring out some of their favorite firearms, hang out, and talk to everyone visiting the gun show! The DSC president is usually there with some interesting and oddball wall-hanger firearms from the late 1800's, and last year there was an older gentleman who brought in some WWII vintage firearms (1903A3, Garand, M1 Carbine, etc.). Some DSC members are also armed security for our tiny event, and they ensure that nothing grows legs and walks away from the display tables. And everyone at the club open carries or concealed carries, we really enjoy our guns and 2A freedoms! The Delano Sportsmen's Club Gun Show isn't like any gun show that you've been to in the past! There will be under half a dozen displays set-up, and only 1 dealer actually selling handguns. You might be asking yourself why you'd want to go to such a tiny gun show, and the answer is simple: come see all the interesting firearms that I'm bringing and putting on display! Below are some photos from my DSC 2023 gun show display. I brought a ton of amazing firearms for people to see, and I really enjoy talking to people about all of these guns! I'm not sure what I'll bring with me for the upcoming January 11, 2025 gun show, since my display changes every year. So, some of the firearms you see in the photos below might not be with me at the upcoming show, but it will still be about this same quantity/quality of firearms for my display. In the photos below, the firearms in my display span 8 centuries of history, from the late 1300's to 2024! For my display I brought some of the oldest firearms known to exist in the world (handgonnes from the 1370's), a few hackbut's from the 1400's, and even a complete grasping trigger fishtail stock matchlock musket from the 1570's! There's a lot of highly significant modern firearms as well, with original US military sniper rifles being represented fairly well in this display. How many firearms can you correctly identify in the photos below? You're an absolute expert in firearms if you can name every single firearm in these photos! |
