Quieting down. There's more cops than protestors at the south end of MHH right now, DPD just pushed them out of the street and into the plaza at the end of the Continental bridge. No real drama. Send DPS to take care of the rioters and watch the fun  But if that has to happen, I would be all for DPS taking over DPD and kicking out the leadership failing to do what needed to be done. And I'm not exactly a big government kind of guy. But if the locals are going to have a complete failure leadership and let them get out of hand, things need to happen before innocent people get hurt. |

Pretty sure it's easy to add a location, it's not an indication of real support. But No Kings is a big astroturf push so there could be a local NGO got some cash for something. While we're seeing the anti-ICE protests now, this is a call back to the anti-Elon stuff from a month ago. Those poor confused fools, mostly oldsters, will be out to get back in the action. So opposition tactics will be different (there is a GD thread on it), not simply giving out Mexican flags for people to proudly display (darnit). |

I literally spent the day picking flowers. I ended up in Sachse and got turned around on George Bush, went all the way to Firewheel, looks like maybe 100 - 150 at the edge of Firewheel around 11am, and the only reason I saw them was because I was u-turning on the tollroad. Ended up in Rockwall, Ennis, Kaufman the rest of the day, didn't see anything until I stopped at a Mexican place to eat and they had the LA riots on telemundo or something. |
