Any body going? My advice would be DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT. I am not a jeep guy. Me and the wife decided last month to go spend the day in Galveston today 5/15 to celebrate our anniversary. We are coming from the Beaumont area and passed through Crystal Beach around 9am. Tons of law enforcement starting around High Island. Coming back around 3:30 there was a metric shit ton of law enforcement everywhere. Access to the beach was severely limited. Check points coming into the CB area. Wanted to stop and eat at Stingaree but they were only serving a limited menu.  Galveston County and the DPS are not fooking around down there this weekend. |
| I can only imagine. I've never gone but have heard it got way, way and I mean way out of control in the last few years. Shame, but always a few idiots who ruin fun. My mom lived down there for a long time, moved now. But still has friends there. I've heard several locals say they have zero need or desire for the Jeep Weekend to even happen. It's just a pain in the ass for them. |
