Crap. WI law still disallows suppressors without federal registration, possibly allows SBRs/SBS'. (Page 2 of 2)

Any word at all yet Or are they just stalling waiting to see who gets elected? |

The companies named as plaintiffs are being extremely cautious involving the other plaintiffs in the states that have some suppressor regulations in state law, and not dealing NFA items in any of those states (without form 4s) until there's official clarification. Nor are FFLs willing to either (don't blame them at all, I would hold off too). In the states that say they must be registered, that's pretty much black & white. No. But in states that say you must comply fed regs, like ours, there's valid "opinions" both ways, and it's more "grey". Stephan Halbrook, a well know constitutional law & gun law expert says we are GTG in his opinion, as plaintiffs' federal registration & licensing requirements have been changed by the permanent injunction. But that's all they are this point, are opinions. Opinions are like assholes. everyone has one.

For now I'll just keep making more noise in the yard...pretty good deterrent so far... BTW saw your protege's vehicle with dog in it at the grocery store today...must have been going out as we were going in though... |

FL law says they are legal as long as you comply with federal regulations. Same basic thing ours says about suppressors. The FL AG has been asked for his opinion & guidance. It'll be interesting what that is. However, he is a pro-gun Republican, not a Josh Kaul. But it still would set some sort of precedence if he gives the OK. If the injunction is still standing after the 60 day deadline for appeals expires, I envision a lawsuit here in WI, if Kaul opposes. Unless he loses the election of course. Step #1... elect Tom Tiffany & Eric Toney. |
