Here is the commemorative Zippo and stand that we made to present the remaining crewmembers of the 504th MP Charlie Company V100 called "Super V" The V100 is digitized from an actual photo of Super V and the signatures are from the veterans associated with that V100 Unfortunately the top name on the Zippo (Patrick Spinks) lost his life in an automobile accident in December 2025 Does this seem appropriate as a token of appreciation for their service and assistance with a project like this? Without the gentleman that insisted I take over this project, and Tillman who lost his Zippo, and Spinks who stepped in and started connecting the dots, this V100 could have easily been one of the estimated 30 in this country with either made up or copied markings with little or no additional history. There is one that is known to be restored with the markings it had in 'Nam, but unfortunately the hull had been cut and put back together, probably as a result of the demil process. Since I took this project on in Dec 2021, two major contributors has since passed away but thankfully their input were well documented prior to their passing...something that didn't happen with so many before them. |
