I just took my class in Washoe and they were telling me they were fast and recently going as quickly as three weeks. I asked because the last time I got one they waited as long as they could. Can't remember what it was but I think it was 3-4 months. Years ago someone told me it's actually covered by statute and Washoe likes to wait right up to the end. I hope my instructor wasn't bullshitting me I am already annoyed we can't do walk ins and the closest appointment they had was almost a month after my class. So dumb. |

The first 2-3 whatever it's been for me I would always receive it right before that period expired. I always pictured a stack of folders sorted by date that they would grab right before they expired. |

This has been my experience for Clark County for my last 2 renewals as well. |
| I take back some of the shit I’ve talked about Washoe. I just got mine in the mail 22 days after my appointment. The only other delay was the time I had to wait for my appointment because they no longer do walk ins. |

Washoe County renewal appt at Parr on August 22, new CCW card in PO Box on Sept 17th. 4th renewal for me and the five years in between annoyingly feels shorter and shorter. I dream of constitutional carry but considering state politics I dont think thats in the cards |

I'm not a lawyer, but I've read that even if we had Constitutional Carry, it would still be good to have the permit. It supposedly it looks better if you have it and you need it unless the Fed's repeal or SCOTUS strikes down the GFSZA IIRC. The every 5 years renewal is annoying, I wish the bill to extend it to 10 made it out of committee last session (it did not), but on the other hand it is a relatively minor annoyance to do the qualification and submit the paperwork. |
