these are legal to own up here. I can carry one in my vehicle 365 days a year as long as it's unloaded and not in plain site. buy an 870 with a 26" barrel and cut it off at 12" like these ones and I just broke the law. Welcome to Canada..

As for home made guns..they need to fall with in certain parameters to remain non restricted. Over all length and barrel length. Center fire rifles can only hold 5 rounds.. |

the moment you "decide" to build a gun from scratch, you are technically required to register it if it will end up being a restricted firearm. That can be difficult if there are no serial numbers yet, but not impossible. People that are accomplished machinists have made firearms for themselves and are not really breaking any laws unless they never register it if it is required. If it is a non-restricted firearm, then obviously they wouldn't need to register it. Mark |
