| Ordered $1100 worth of ammo this am. Since Brownells, Midway USA and TargetSports USA are all shipping to CA, I have to believe that this is a coordinated campaign to become plaintiffs in a future commerce clause challenge to sue CA for violating their rights. I ordered because I need ammo and I want to be a plaintiff to sue Rob Bonta if my shipment is cancelled and my rights violated. I believe I would be an excellent plaintiff candidate, due to my spotless background and job/court testimony history. |

Only once have I tried to buy loaded ammo under these restrictions. I wanted one single box of rimfire match ammo (~$5 price). I went after work on my way home, albeit out of my way. The one person who was allowed to sell ammo had left for the day and I was denied even an attempt at the background check, hence, denied the purchase. A few days later, I went back during my lunch break. This time, the manager was there, so I was able to complete the check and make the purchase. It took two trips, two trips worth of gasoline, extra fees and about two hours of my time. IIRC, it was about two trips and $20 to buy a $5 box of rimfire ammo. By contrast, I used to order online and it showed up on my doorstep. |

I read an article which quoted 400 legitimate buyers were wrongfully denied for every legally-ineligible person attempting to make a purchase. 400:1 ! It also morphed from what voters approved (a check and a card valid for multiple years) into a face-to-face check for every, single purchase. |

Im glad to see this. I dont live in CA but I travel there for work a lot and have a newly issued Non-Resident permit. Non-residents dont have a mechanism to purchase ammo so this is a win for visitors, as well. Of course I would never advocate that anyone intentionally break the law, but the online ammo company I used to work for in Pahrump has always just had an "if you order it, we ship it" policy. |
