I’ve held a non-resident MN CCW for 15 years. This was my renewal year for years 16-20. I use the Houston County Sheriff’s Department. State law gives 30 days and normally they take most to all of that time. This year I dropped off my papers on Mon, Aug 17. They mailed my renewed permit on Aug 21 and I got it exactly one week later on Mon, Aug 24. I don’t know what changed, but it’s nice to see my permit in less than a week if we discount mailing and a weekend in the timeline. |

In my opinion, a weeks time should be all it takes to process and issue a renewed CCW. Your already in the "system", with several previous renewals under your belt. That's the way it used to be in Wisconsin, but lately, renewals are taking 2-3 weeks and quite a few people are wondering why the delay. Gary |
