Hoping someone with one can help me out. I’m looking at snagging a CA compliant model P2000 for a decent price, but it would be shipped so I can’t get hands on it. I’m curious if the CA compliant models that are sold have the mechanical changes (i.e., LCI or Mag disconnector)? I’ve read conflicting information. Thanks! |
| Anything I’ve gotten recently has had both. I’d guess it depends on when it was made? That should be a pretty easy thing for the seller to determine though and if you don’t want those features they are typically fairly simple to delete if it won’t be a carry gun. (Unsure of the legality of it, but…) |

I might just call the store to see if they can answer, but you never know how informed the employees at the big stores are?! |
| Where and who are you buying it from? Say, a California gun store in California? I would think a Ca. store would have compliant products, perhaps less risk of an "Oops?" Where is it being shipped/delivered? I believe an out of state handgun sale must be made through an in state FFL. The Ca ffl would have to ensure the handgun was on-roster unless the transfer meets the requirements for an off-roster transfer. |

For about $60 more I just found a night sights version close to me, so that might be the answer. |
| It seems highly unlikely that buying a California compliant firearm for delivery out of state, that it might not be compliant. I would assume the Ca compliant models have specific model numbers and if that's what one orders, that's what you should get. I'd expect the Oregon FFL will be verifying paperwork, model, serial number, etc. I'd expect the manufacturer is very unlikely to identifiy, package and sell non-compliant handguns with a compliant model number. |
