I'm hoping some of you NM locals can help me out with some info. My son is interested in flying into Albuquerque to experience a hot air balloon ride. The wife and I want to give him a gift certificate that would cover the cost of the entry fee and ride, but we don't know the first thing about this activity or if there's a decent event within a one hour drive of ABQ Int Airport. All advice would be greatly appreciated. |

Probably not what you are looking for, but this is the grand daddy of all balloon events. https://balloonfiesta.com/ There are balloons that go up almost every weekend during the cooler months. My suggestion would be to check Facebook for these groups. I’m sure most of them would offer rides. |

Take lots of pictures, people get taken with the experience & forget to do so Listen to the pilot & be prepared to help inflate & deflate the ballon (i.e. holding ropes, holding down gondola, etc.) help is usually appreciated, & they will ask if needed. |
