I am new to AZ and so far I am dissapointed in my my search for a gunstore that carries a large selection of used guns. Most stores have a bunch of plastic guns but not much else. Where is the go to gun store in the Phoenix area? |

Quick suggestions: Arizona Firearms (Tempe*) Bear Arms (Scottsdale) AJI (Apache Junction) *-There is also a Chandler store, that used to be a Gilbert Store. I haven't been there since it was in the old place in Gilbert. I always thought Tempe was the better of the two, but when looking for used firearms... who knows? |

AJI is one of the better stores for used guns. The majority of their inventory is used and I think pretty fairly priced. I always seem something in there that I would buy if I had cash burning a hole in my pocket. They have a pretty high turnover as well. So you don't see that same thing everytime you stop in. The shop is a little out of the way in Apache Junction. But I try to stop in when I am running out to job sites for work in the area (about once or twice a month). I always have a dilemma when I'm in there as their is always something I think is a deal. The last one I passed over and regretted was a Sig P2022 9mm for $299. I've always liked the trigger on those guns and $300 for a quality 9mm is as good as it gets anymore. Arizona Firearms also has a good selection of used guns and are decently priced as well. Most of their stuff comes up on Gunbroker, so you can shop 'virtually'. I think the Tempe location has a slightly better selection (or at least more stuff I'm interested in). They just moved their Gilbert store to Chandler (Alma School & Germann), but I haven't stopped in at the new location. I've bought a ton of stuff from them as they list their stuff on Gunbroker. So I can shop while taking breaks from working on the computer. When a big commission check hits, I reward myself with something and can usually find a deal. |

Bear Arms probably has the best selection of 1911's in Arizona. lots used guns too. William Larkin Moore (scottsdale) is one of the best for REALLY nice shotguns in the country, lots of high end estate guns. Look for them on Gunsinternational.com or stop by weekdays. Nothing in the store under 4 or 5 digits. I've found a surprising number of nice used guns at Scottsdale gun Club (a commercial indoor range and gunshop business, not really a "club") and NWA right next to it. Healy Arms in Tempe is nice. Scheels in Chandler mall has a large used rack. Lots of hunting rifles & shotguns. Like bass pro & sportsmans warehouse, priced to cover their real estate & decor. Big gunshows at the fairgrounds every other month. welcome to AZ |
