Maybe I missed it.. where does it state you must qualify with the guns you intend to carry and that you can only carry what you qualified with? The verbage states that the permit is good for any firearms owned. Which brings the question, if I want to use a friends firearm to qualify with, what does it matter… Edit.. GFH states you must show proof of ownership but is that their policy ir what? |

Even if they pass this ridiculous stuff, it's going to get an injunction while the lawsuits prepare their smackdown. And a smackdown is what will come. Even NJ can't evade the clear language that was applied in Bruen. Just about everything in their proposal is in direct defiance of the language in the ruling. It does not stand a chance. IMHO, the more people that get their permits up front sets the tone, and adds more plaintiffs. Even if they end up getting lucky and evade the clear language in the ruling and get some sort of restriction legally through, what is the downside? What is the argument against getting the permit? Supposedly (some) judges are issuing restrictions with the permit that states the serial# of the pistols you qual'd with. It's bullshit, but it is happening. |

It's your choice, at the end of the day, but this is the wrong attitude to take, in my opinion, and is exactly what the assholes in power are counting on... an already rigorous application process, now compounded with the threat of even more restrictive legislation, all of which are designed to convince the public that it's not worth it and it is better to wait. Final result... they win and we lose with lower numbers of legally armed citizens. As another member said, you do you, but my advice to all is to not fall prey to this type of mental manipulation. Now is the time for as many people to submit their applications as possible. The Supreme Court has spoken and we now have precedent on our side. Even if this A4769 mess passes into law, I expect it to be blocked immediately, as was done in New York. Our rights in this state as free Americans will no longer be infringed. Next stop... mag capacity restrictions. Better to lead than follow. Submit your applications, folks. Rant over. |

I'm applying from PA no matter what. My view is it's a middle finger to NJ that you're not going to stop me and I will get this permit. I only go to Jersey to see my family and really will only carry into Jersey to visit friends and family. I'll still be able to protect my family traveling and I'm happy with that. Another thing is the Supreme Court just told NY they can't do BS like this, so NJ will have the same problem. I also heard that Muprhy is planning to make the application process even more ridiculous to try and deter people from applying. Supposedly happening end of 2022 or beginning of 2023. Don't back down, get your permit, and stick it to Murphy. |

Thanks for posting this. I still haven't heard back from the man, but no matter... This is the exact info I was looking for. Sounds like there is a solid plan and the team will be moving extremely fast. This is good news. Once the injunction is live, there should be zero impact to applications that are in flux. Even more reason for to apply now, folks. |

Senate Law and Public SafetyThursday, October 27, 2022 - 11:00 AM Committee Room 6, 1st Floor, State House Annex, Trenton, NJ S3214Makes various revisions to requirements for obtaining a firearm purchaser identification card, permit to purchase a handgun, and permit to carry a handgun; codifies sensitive places in which firearms and weapons are prohibited. https://www.njleg.state.nj.us/live-proceedings/2022-10-27-11:00:00/SLP/Meeting S3214 |

I skimmed the bill. For those that want a summary of the changes start at the bottom of page 26. Application changes include upping the fee to $200, and increasing the # of non-relative references from three to five. Carry changes include all the prohibited places previously discussed here, i.e everywhere. Mandatory murder insurance that is currently prohibited by executive order to obtain. Added duty to notify and duty to present murder insurance card when encountering LEO. It's a shit show. Fuck this state and may the lawsuits be heavy and vindictive. Amen. |
|
Yep, definitely a New Jersey shit show. if carrying a handgun in public, failing to display the permit to carry a handgun and proof of firearm public carry liability insurance upon request of a law enforcement officer; or if carrying a handgun in public, refusing to provide the handgun to a law enforcement officer upon request for purposes of inspecting the handgun. A person who violates these requirements would be guilty of a crime of the fourth degree. "There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws." |

Hmmm? Breaking: Concealed Carry Restriction Bill Pulled From Voting Session New Jersey Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin just announced that further discussion and a vote on the controversial Concealed Carry Restriction bill, will be suspended from the schedule. The bill, which was moving swiftly through the Legislature, has drawn criticism from Republicans who said it was too vague and far reaching. Sources in Trenton tell TLS that they still expect the bill to reach the governor's desk eventually but will be amended to clarify some of the current bill's language. However, Republicans were quick to celebrate, with Assemblyman Kevin Rooney (R-Wyckoff) calling a "victory for lawful firearm owners and for common sense gun legislation." |

Shocker ! The permit has check boxes on the back for restrictions as follows 1.None 2. See below ( there is a space to list restrictions whichever they may be) 3. Court Order (see court order) mine was checked with court order When I picked it up the clerk gave me a two page court order and said make copies and keep one with you while carrying , court order lists the handgun/handguns you are able to carry there is a section that states and this is where they fuck you "ORDERED that the applicant shall carry permit number XXXXXX AND A COPY OF THIS ORDER at all times that the applicant is carrying the handgun for which this approval has been granted; and it is further ORDERED that this permit shall be invalid at any place where, by operation of law, the carrying of firearms either is, or shall be, prohibited" I'm wondering if the "none" restricted check box exempts you from all this horseshit , I may be wrong by my guess is that there is a more equal permit issued to more equal citizens , ex leo , politicians , lawyers etc. , or it could be the judge who I know is anti 2A being forced to issue, checked the court order box as a way to fuck with and restrict the peons knowing that they will be passing laws restricting shortly |

I've seen some permits online with both the none and see court order boxes checked. If it were me, I wouldn't overthink it too much. So go forth and exercise your hard won 2nd amendment rights. |
