I think my wife would really enjoy some professional instruction (bolt guns) and ringing steel. Browsed a couple local companies but didn't see anything offered. |

Jim Erwin does down in Minden. I haven't taken any classes with him, but I know people who have, and they speak highly of him. |

A cheap way to learn is the Palomino Valley Gun Club Varmint Silhouette match the Second Saturday of the month. There are plenty of people that are willing to help you learn. You shoot 40 rounds for score in a timed event. You will have to learn wind calls. The targets are not easy to hit on a good day. This match has been going for roughly 15 years and I know of only 1 perfect score and that was shot in a snow storm in Elko. Elko has a match every third Saturday and Ely has one on the fourth Saturday. |

Targets are moa for the distance being shot. Ranges start around 800 out to 1200 i believe. No sighters allowed . Shots fired are for score only. Matches are held once a month. $10 entry fee, open to the public. |
